Egyptian born Muslim cleric, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi says:
"Pray less, work more."
Due to following the Muslim practice of praying five times per day and performing mandatory ablution which involves washing of the face, hands, feet, arms and head, Egypt's six million government employees actually work only 27 MINUTES PER DAY! Wow, our government employees probably out work them by double! Just kidding.
The above is according to an official study. It was also reported that Muslim men walk around with bruises on their foreheads to show how often they touch their heads to the ground in prostration. The entire government shuts down during prayer breaks.
But don't over react now because our educational system teaches us that: "ALL CULTURES ARE EQUAL." Never took a second sip of that koolaid myself.

It is an accurate statement to say that in a lot of arabic countries (not necessarily all muslim countries) where oil is the lifeblood, the govts long ago decided to give out oil checks instead of educating and working their people; thus, you have rampant unemployment and undereducation in a lot of startlingly rich ME countries.
That, coincidentally, is one of the key points leveraged by radicalists, and one of the reasons that as we try to lift up Iraq, they try to tear it down. Strangely enough, Saddam made sure to keep his schools and universities up to par as best he could, positioning Iraq as the best place to make an example of how an arab country could lift itself out of the doldrums and be a modern thriving secular muslim country like Indonesia or Turkey. Islamists don´t want to see that happen right in the middle of their oppressed masses because not only does it negate the whole "we´re victims" card they constantly play it gives the oppressed masses hope for a better life and a reason not to join the jihad. by TheGoblinKing June 5, 2008
Wonder what their hourly pay is when you divide their daily earning by 27 minutes?
Let´s see:
If they are making $10.00 an hour for an 8 hour day, that´s $80.00. Eight hours times 60 equals 480 minutes.
$80.00/480 minutes = $0.167 per minute
$80.00/27 minutes = $2.96 per minute
$2.96 X 480 minutes = $1,422.22 per day
$1,422.22/8 hours = $177.78 per hour.
By only working 27 minutes per day, they are making an hourly wage of $177.78!
